Ingredients
  • 1cup water(lukewarm)
  • 1tsp active dry yeast
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 2cups flour(all purpose, or 1.5 cup all purpose and 0.5 cup whole wheat)
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1tsp olive oil
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the water, dry yeast and sugar. Let rest for 5 min.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt.
  4. Slowly add the water (with yeast and sugar) to the flour, using a fork to mix it in.
  5. Once the wet and dry ingredients are mixed together, add a splash of olive oil and start kneading the dough. Knead until the dough is easy to manipulate.
  6. Form the dough into a ball, leave it in the bowl and cover the bowl with a clean, damp dishcloth. Let rest for an hour.
  7. Once the dough has rested, sprinkle flour on a clean surface and knead the dough a few more times. Pushing down on the dough with your knuckles will help get rid of air bubbles.
  8. Shape the dough into a 12″ disk, place the disk on a pizza pan and brush the edges with the remaining olive oil.
  9. Once your pizza is built (adding sauce and toppings), place the pizza pan in the oven and cook for 15-20 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
